Cafe in the maple courtyard
Twenty two beautiful Acer x freemanii “Jeffersred” Autumn Blaze trees provide deep shade in Summer and glowing red leaves in Autumn. This area is the perfect place to sit with a cup of coffee, fresh scones or a piece of delicious cake, whilst reading the days papers or chatting with friends. A visiting ornithologist recently counted up the fifteen different varieties of birds in the gardens and a resident thrush in the courtyard keeps our visitors entertained. A giant chess set has been installed in the corner of the courtyard with long wide benches for the onlookers as the chess champions battle to the end.
The courtyard at this Yarra Valley cafe is also a great place for groups to get together or for families to set up a picnic and enjoy the relaxing environment. Wedding parties also enjoy this area following their wedding ceremony with cocktails, drinks or light refreshments.
Light lunches can be arranged for groups visiting the gardens if booked ahead.
